Over the next few days and weeks - however long it takes - I expect to see British Muslims doing all they can to press for the release of Gillian Gibbons. I expect to see demonstrations outside the Sudanese embassy and delegations from the MCB going to Sudan to petition for her immediate, unconditional release. If this does not happen, then I am forced to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a "moderate" muslim. The Wahhabis have won, and they have done so with the tacit approval of all muslims.

I'm more angry about this than I have been about anything since our idiot leaders decided to invade Iraq, but if I - a white, atheist Englishman - go on a demonstration outside the Sudanese embassy, I have a sneaking suspicion that it will make things worse. I (and two milllion others) went on demonstrations to stop our idiot leaders invading Iraq, so now it's your turn, guys. Don't let me down.
